The other place of interest in the city is Soni ji ki Nasiya also known as the red temple. It is a Jain temple dedicated to deity Rishabhdev ji or Adinath. Dating back to 19th century, this temple is counted amongst the richest temples in India as the temples houses several gold plated idols and figurines.
Pushkar
Holy town of Pushkar is also situated near Ajmer and one who comes to Ajmer must visit Pushkar as well which is situated at a distance of mere 13 kms. Pushkar is a pilgrimage site of Hindus. At the ehart of the town is a pond called Pushkar Sarovar which is considered holy by Hindus and devotees take a dip in it to relieve themselves of all sins.
The principal deity of Pushkar is Lord Bramha residing in the Bramha temple which is the only temple dedicated to the Lord. Other places of attraction in Pushkar are Savitri temple situated on a hilltop and can be reached using ropeway or stairs.
