History of Mehrangarh Fort –
The chief of Rathore clan, Rao Jodha has played a major role in creating the Jodhpur city in Rajasthan. The city was previously known as the main region of Marwar. The Citadel has undergone with the glorious history. The name of the fortress, Mehrangarh means Sun-deity which has been the chief deity of the Rathore dynasty. Although the fortress was initiated in 1456 by Rao Jodha-the founder of Jodhpur, most of the forts are stills stands with the same gratitude from the phase of Jaswant Singh of Marwar. The fortress is a pride of the marvelous architectures which were created in the bygone era.
Location – Mehrangarh fort is located at the center of the city which is spreading over 5 kilometers on the hilltop.
